Create with Craftey: “Cup of Cheer” DIY Holiday Mug

AHHHHH! Y’all. I am so excited for this month’s Create with Craftey design. If you haven’t seen this series before, it’s where the lovely people over at Craftey sponsor a new hand-lettered SVG file every month that they give to you guys for FREE along with an idea and instructions to complete your own DIY project. You can download December’s design here.

I am so, so excited about this design because I know that it is going to make the CUTEST mug for you to have around home, around the office, to hand make for one of your gal pal’s… Do you agree yet or should I keep going? Hahaha. You can learn how to make this mug (aka you’ll learn how to put any design you’d like on a mug) step-by-step over on Craftey’s blog post.

But wait… there is more. Craftey also made a Youtube video that shows the whole process and holds quite a few handy tips for applying vinyl onto a coffee mug (because if you’ve ever done it, you know that sometimes applying vinyl onto a rounded surface like that can be tricky). They also have all of the vinyl of your dreams available in their shop. As I write this, I’m looking at a roll of their Color Chimp HTV for me to make some DIY dish towels for the kitchen and hopefully a few Christmas gifts. That is for another day though so let me stop rambling.

If you’ve made it this far into my blog post, thank you for always reading through until the (almost) end. I wanted to make sure to announce this here first for all of you who love my Create with Craftey series because you deserve to hear it first… drum roll please… We will be continuing our partnership in 2019. YEP. YOU READ THAT RIGHT. THEY ARE SPONSORING TWELVE MORE FREE HAND-LETTERED SVG FILES. Get ready for 12 more months of this. WOOHOO! Katie, the community manager over at Craftey, is such a joy to work with and I wish I could hug her through this blog post or the early morning and late night email exchanges. We have been working together for quite some time now and I am so thankful to work with a company that inspires so many with their projects and tips and a company that truly values the creatives in this community. EEEEK. Okay, I’ll end this now by saying one last thank you to Katie for believing in and supporting Bossy Brushstrokes (since the almost beginning).

I can’t wait to see all of the different mugs and cups that you put this SVG file on so don’t forget to tag Craftey and myself on social media when you use this file to create your own DIY holiday cup (or just year round if you’re full of cheer during all the seasons). If you aren’t following them already, you can find Craftey on their FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

Until next time, stay bossy y’all!

Create With Craftey: “Grateful” Home Decor

It’s time for November’s Create with Craftey design. If you haven’t seen this series before, it’s where the wonderful people over at Craftey sponsor a new hand-lettered SVG file every month that they give to you guys for FREE along with an idea and instructions to complete your own DIY project. You can download November’s design here.

When you think of November, what do you think about? *insert dramatic pause* It is probably somewhere in-between “Thanksgiving deserves more recognition” and “November 1st means Christmas”… am I right? or am I right? Regardless of where you fall in that spectrum, I hope that you’re feeling grateful for a few things in your life. Check out this gorgeous DIY fall decor piece made using Color Chimp Heat Transfer Vinyl that can serve as your reminder to be grateful.

Go head over to their blog post so that you can see how this project is done step-by-step. They added a gorgeous wreath to go along with the hand-lettered design and it is SO cute. I think the pop of green is perfect because it is a neutral and great for any time of year BUT also fits in for the holidays as well.

We want to see the other creative ways that you come up with to use this SVG file so don’t forget to tag Craftey and myself on social media when you use this file to create your own DIY project. If you aren’t following them already, you can find Craftey on their FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

Until next time, stay bossy y’all!

Create With Craftey: DIY Fall Decor Pillow

Hello, hello, hello! It’s October. New month, new Create with Craftey design. WOOHOO!!! If you haven’t seen this series before, it’s where the awesome folks over at Craftey sponsor a new hand-lettered SVG file every month that they give to you guys for FREE along with an idea to get you started. You can download October’s design here.

In fall fashion, we’re doing a “pumpkin spice & everything nice” pillow that can easily be added to any part of your home (and hellooooo, now you’ll know how to make new pillows for every season). Craftey breaks it down step-by-step so that whether you are a beginner or an expert you can re-create this yourself confidently. The best kind of crafting is the cute and cozy kind so are you ready to get cozy on the couch?

If you didn’t know already, Craftey also has a whole community portion of their website where you can go and connect with others who love vinyl crafting as much as you do. I have learned SO many awesome tips and tricks from their community and their social media (like using a sheet from a lint roller to collect the little pieces as you weed??? GENIUS).

Go head over to their blog post so that you can learn more about the process (or purchase their Color Chimp Flock HTV) and snag that design. As always, a pillow is just one idea. We want to see the other creative ways that you come up with to use this SVG file so don’t forget to tag Craftey and myself on social media when you do. If you aren’t following them already, you can find Craftey on their FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

Until next time, stay bossy y’all!

Create with Craftey: “You Had Me At Coffee” Pocket Tee

Happy September my friends! Most importantly, September means fall (no but really the first day of fall is next weekend y’all) but it also means the first FULL month of school. Whether you’re a student, a mom having to go back to waking up extra early to get the kiddos ready, a teacher losing sleep to grade papers and being up early the next morning to prepare for the day OR maybe you’re just using back-to-school as an excuse to binge purchase office supplies that you definitely don’t need (oops, that might just be me)… You’re probably drinking 2x the amount of caffeine lately. I’ll be honest and tell you that I don’t personally drink coffee but that doesn’t mean I can’t make a cute hand-lettered freebie about it, right?!?! You can download this FREE hand-lettered SVG file over at Craftey. If you are new here, Craftey has sponsored a custom hand-lettered SVG file every month through the end of the year. And that means that every month, I get to share a super cute DIY project with you guys!  If you’d like to see the other posts I’ve done with Craftey in the past, just click here to scroll through my Create With Craftey blog category!

Katie, the wonderful community manager over at Craftey, was originally going to put this design on a coffee mug to show you guys how to use heat transfer vinyl on a mug but then her beloved heat gun died on her (RIP). But what do we do when our crafting supplies don’t agree with our crafting schedule? We pivot and make something that is just as cute and then plan to finish the coffee mug when our next heat gun gets delivered (so watch out because I’ll be updating this blog post when it happens).

The white vinyl you are seeing is their Color Chimp Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV). If you’re looking for an awesome bundle of HTV to get you started, look no further. Craftey has done all the work for you and you can simply purchase a starter bundle. You get ten 12″x12″ sheets of some super fun colors! I love when companies have bundles available because choosing one color can be so hard (dare I say… impossible?) so this is a great way to dip your toes in the HTV water to start off your collection. For a more seasoned HTV user or if you just have something specific in mind, they’ve got tons of options available in their shop so I wanted to make sure I mentioned that before I showed y’all the finished product.

AHHHH. The final reveal. Do you guys love it? I swear there is nothing better than throwing on a cute pocket tee and the knotted look is SO in right now and makes dressing it up even easier. Plus, it can give a new life to any shirt in your closet.

Remember this is just one way (technically two ways?) to use this free SVG file and as always, I know you guys are going to create awesome things with it. Don’t forget to tag Craftey and myself on social media when you do because we’d love to see what you create. If you aren’t following them already, you can find Craftey on their FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

Until next time, stay bossy y’all!

Create With Craftey: “Summer Lovin'” T-shirt

Happy August! August is a huge month for me in my personal life and is bringing a lot of great changes. I have finished my Masters of Business Administration (the day this post is going live is actually my graduation day) and I’m making a big move from the South to the Mid-West. Have you made any big changes this summer? Or have any coming your way? I’d love to hear about them in the comments if you do. Anyway, let’s talk about the FREE hand-lettered SVG file by yours truly that you download over at Craftey.

Katie, the community manager over at Craftey, is going to take you through step-by-step on how to create this yourself at home! She used an already super cute patterned t-shirt and made it something new. I think this is perfect way to upcycle a shirt you already own. But let’s be honest, we could put “Summer Lovin'” on just about anything.

We know you guys are going to create something awesome. Head over to Craftey’s post to download this file FOR FREE and learn how to make this yourself. Don’t forget to tag Craftey and myself on social media if you use this file because we’d love to see what you create. If you aren’t following them already, you can find Craftey on their FacebookInstagram and Pinterest.

Until next time, stay bossy y’all!
